My card was declined — what should I do?

Updated 10 Sep 20262 min read

Nothing has been charged. A decline happens at your bank, before the money moves — we only ever see the word “declined”, never the reason.

Four things that usually fix it

1. Finish the verification prompt

Most declines are an unanswered 3-D Secure check. Your bank sends it to your banking app or by SMS while the payment page waits. Open the app, approve it, and try again — if you closed the tab too early, the payment never completed.

2. Check the billing details match the card

The name, address and postcode on the checkout page have to match what your bank has on file for that card. A different address, or a postcode typed with the wrong spacing, is enough for some banks to refuse.

3. Try another card, or Apple / Google Pay

Some banks block online game and digital-goods purchases by default, especially on prepaid and virtual cards. A different card usually goes straight through, and Apple Pay or Google Pay often clears where the raw card number did not, because your wallet has already verified you.

4. Pay with crypto instead

No bank sits in the middle, there is no payment fee, and it works the same from every country. Your order stays open for 24 hours, so you can switch methods without starting again.

If it still will not go through

Call the number on the back of your card and ask them to release it — they can see the reason and we cannot. Then message us on live chat or Discord with your order number and we will keep the order open while you sort it out.

Seeing several “pending” charges on your statement after retrying? Those are authorisation holds, not charges. Your bank drops them on its own, usually within a few working days.
