ARC Raiders weapon amplification, added in Frozen Trail 2.0, is a fifth quality level that changes how a gun behaves. You need the Outpost and a fully upgraded Research Workstation. Embark says 15 guns support it at launch; the community wiki lists 14, with 21 possible upgrades such as Full-Auto for the Burletta, a scope for the Renegade and a Drum Mag for the Rattler.
Embark introduced Amplified Weapons in its Frozen Trail content preview and shipped them in the 2.0 update on October 8, 2026. Embark has not published a full upgrade list, so the per-gun tables below come from the community-run ARC Raiders Wiki, not from Embark. For the rest of the patch, see our Frozen Trail update guide.
How weapon amplification works in ARC Raiders
Embark describes amplification as a fifth quality level that opens “a branching path of abilities and enhancements” which can completely change a weapon’s behavior. Its own examples are a fully automatic Burletta, a Renegade with a scope, and a Rattler with incendiary bullets and a 64-bullet magazine.
Embark frames it as a late-game system for players who already have favorite guns. The feature rolled out to 15 weapons, with more planned.
The wiki adds four rules that are not in Embark’s posts:
- Amplification fundamentally changes the weapon and cannot be reverted.
- Amplified weapons have a higher maximum durability.
- When you die, an amplified weapon drops to 10% durability.
- To repair an amplified weapon, you must have researched the modules it uses.
Embark’s 2.0 notes confirm the repair material: Amplified Weapons are repaired with Amplified Fragments. The old Anvil Splitter mod no longer drops, but any you still own can be sold or recycled into Amplified Fragments.

How to unlock Amplified Weapons
- Unlock the Outpost. Complete the Sheltered Retreat project; our Outpost unlock guide has every stage. Unlocking the Outpost also unlocks the research station.
- Upgrade the Research Workstation fully. Embark says amplification uses the fully upgraded Research Workstation. On the wiki, the station has four levels, and level 4 needs 3 Thermal Shaker, 3 ARC Data Module and 1 Frigate Inductor.
- Research the module you want, then apply it. Each upgrade on the wiki has its own research entry, such as “ARC Core Weakness Analysis” for Anti Weak Point. The research cost for each module is not documented yet.
One point is unclear. The wiki’s Amplification page says you also need the Gunsmith at level 4, while its Workshop page says workshop stations upgrade only up to level 3. Embark’s posts mention only the Research Workstation, so the Gunsmith requirement is not confirmed.

Which guns can be amplified: all upgrades by weapon
The wiki’s table lists 14 weapons, one short of Embark’s 15. We could not identify the fifteenth from any source, so it is not in this table. Every gun listed also gets Amplified Durability, the 21st upgrade type, which raises maximum durability.
| Weapon | Amplification upgrades (wiki) |
|---|---|
| Burletta | Burst-Fire, Full-Auto, Increased Burst, Sprint Shooting |
| Hairpin | Incendiary Rounds, Tracker Rounds, Semi-Auto, Sprint Shooting |
| Equalizer | Anti Weak Point, Anti Shield, Ramping Damage |
| Renegade | Anti Shield, More Reload, Scoped |
| Rattler | Incendiary Rounds, Drum Mag, More Reload |
| Canto | Incendiary Rounds, Sprint Shooting, Carbine Conversion |
| Osprey | Anti Weak Point, Tracker Rounds, Straight Bolt |
| Bettina | X Rounds, Semi-Auto, Bigger Mag |
| Kettle | Anti Shield, X Rounds |
| Anvil | X Rounds, Anvil Splitter |
| Hullcracker | Incendiary Grenade, Mag Reload |
| Jupiter | Scoped, Straight Bolt |
| Aphelion | Incendiary Rounds |
| Rascal | Incendiary Grenade |
Frozen Trail’s two new guns, the Bantam and the Stiletto, are not on the wiki’s list. Whether they can be amplified is not confirmed.

Amplification upgrade stats
The wiki publishes numbers for some upgrades. These are community figures and may change with balance patches:
| Upgrade | Guns | Effect (wiki) |
|---|---|---|
| Full-Auto | Burletta | 60% higher fire rate, -2 base damage, 60% lower headshot multiplier, 50% more vertical and horizontal recoil |
| Drum Mag | Rattler | +40 magazine size, still reloads a couple of bullets at a time; more recoil and dispersion, 10% slower ADS |
| X Rounds | Kettle, Anvil, Bettina | +3 base damage, 25% more damage vs ARC armor, 20% more recoil, 30% slower bullets (Bettina loses 4 magazine rounds) |
| Semi-Auto | Hairpin, Bettina | 150% higher fire rate, 20% lower headshot multiplier, 40% more per-shot dispersion |
| Carbine Conversion | Canto | 50% less ADS recoil, tighter dispersion, 10% lower fire rate, 20% slower equip and unequip |
| Incendiary Rounds | Hairpin, Rattler, Canto, Aphelion | +5/s burn damage, +2/s burn duration |
| Incendiary Grenade | Rascal, Hullcracker | +11.25/s burn damage, +5/s burn duration; 40% less projectile damage and 50% slower projectile |
| Tracker Rounds | Hairpin, Osprey | Hit targets are tracked for 5 seconds |
| More Reload | Rattler, Renegade | Loads 2 bullets at a time |
Embark’s preview describes the amplified Rattler as having a 64-bullet magazine; the wiki lists Drum Mag as +40 magazine size. Those two figures describe different things (total magazine versus the increase), so we have not combined them.
Upgrades without published numbers on the wiki include Anti Weak Point (more damage to ARC weak points, less to armor plating), Anti Shield (breaks shields faster), Ramping Damage (Equalizer damage builds while the beam stays on target), Scoped, Straight Bolt (bolt action while scoped), Sprint Shooting, Bigger Mag and Mag Reload (Hullcracker no longer reloads one round at a time).
The Anvil Splitter change
The Anvil Splitter used to be a Tech Mod. In 2.0 Embark removed the Tech Mod slot from the Anvil and turned the Splitter into an improved upgrade option for the Amplified Anvil. On the wiki it replaces the Anvil’s bullets with ones that split into four weaker projectiles.
The Anvil also moved up a rarity tier in 2.0, and the new Bantam takes over its old role as the uncommon hand cannon, per the same notes. Our Frozen Trail skill tree guide covers the other big 2.0 build change.
ARC Raiders weapon services
Amplification only works on guns you own, and an amplified gun drops to 10% durability when you die, per the wiki. These are the guns from Embark’s own examples:
