A Premium Warbond costs 1,000 Super Credits. Free credits come from three places: 10-credit stacks (rarely 100) at points of interest, 750 in the free Helldivers Mobilize! Warbond, and 300 inside every Premium Warbond you finish. After the first, that leaves about 700 to farm: roughly 3.5 to 5 hours of solo Trivial runs, going by historical 2024 player reports; maps have changed since.
This page does the arithmetic for one Warbond: how many credits you still need after the free payouts, how many medals stand between you and those payouts, and how long the remaining pickups take at the rates players have reported. For the route itself, which maps and containers to hit, see our guide on how to farm Super Credits.
What a Warbond costs in Super Credits
Arrowhead’s support article What’s a Legendary Warbond? gives the usual Premium Warbond price as 1,000 Super Credits. Legendary Warbonds, the collaboration tier, are priced differently, and the only one it prices is the ODST Warbond at 1,500. The same article says Premium Warbonds arrive “every couple of months”, which is the clock you are racing if you want each one free.
| Warbond type | Price | Super Credits inside | Net cost once finished |
|---|---|---|---|
| Standard (Helldivers Mobilize!) | Free | 750 | Pays you 750 |
| Premium | 1,000 | 300 | 700 |
| Legendary (ODST) | 1,500 | None | 1,500 |
| Other Legendary Warbonds | Varies, check in game | None | Full price |
The in-Warbond payouts and the “no credits in Legendary Warbonds” rule come from the community-run Helldivers Wiki Super Credits page, checked October 1, 2026. Our every Warbond ranked by completion cost page has the per-Warbond medal side of that table.
Every free Super Credit source, and what each one pays
There are only three ways to earn Super Credits without paying, according to the wiki and Arrowhead’s February 2024 Warbond FAQ (quoted on the wiki’s Warbonds page), which describes credits as either “discovered at points of interest during missions or purchased through the in-game store”.
- Pickups at Minor Places of Interest: usually a stack of 10, very rarely 100, inside pods, cargo containers and bunkers. They are credited to everyone in the mission the moment anyone picks them up.
- Helldivers Mobilize! (the free Warbond): one stack per page across ten pages, 750 in total.
- Premium Warbonds: a 100-credit stack on each of the three pages, 300 in total.
Some things that look like sources are not. The Superstore sells armor, weapons and cosmetics for Super Credits; it never pays them out. The wiki lists Major Order rewards as medals, Requisition Slips, equipment and Stratagems, and Personal Orders pay 15 medals. Neither pays Super Credits. The Super Citizen Edition’s Warbond Token is worth one Premium Warbond, but Arrowhead’s Legendary article says it is valued at 1,000 and cannot claim a Legendary one, and it comes with a paid edition, not from play.
The free Warbond’s 750 Super Credits: how many medals it takes
Helldivers Mobilize! is where a new account’s first credits come from, but they are spread unevenly. The figures below are read from the wiki’s Helldivers Mobilize! Warbond page, which lists each page’s credit stack, its medal price and the medals you must have spent to open the page.
| Page | Medals spent to open | Super Credit stack | Stack costs |
|---|---|---|---|
| 1 | 0 | 100 | 1 medal |
| 2 | 8 | 100 | 2 medals |
| 3 | 35 | 100 | 3 medals |
| 4 | 75 | 100 | 6 medals |
| 5 | 150 | 100 | 10 medals |
| 6 | 260 | 50 | 15 medals |
| 7 | 420 | 50 | 15 medals |
| 8 | 650 | 50 | 20 medals |
| 9 | 850 | 50 | 25 medals |
| 10 | 1,200 | 50 | 50 medals |
The pattern matters for timing. The first 500 credits sit on pages 1 to 5, so about 160 medals spent in Mobilize gets you half of a Premium Warbond. The last 250 sit on pages 6 to 10, which open between 260 and 1,200 medals spent; the final 50 needs the full 1,200. Those medals buy weapons and armor along the way, so they are not wasted, but they are a long way off for a new player.

A Premium Warbond’s 300 Super Credits back: medals first
Every Premium Warbond prices its three 100-credit stacks at 7, 12 and 32 medals. The catch is the page thresholds. On Cutting Edge, page two opens at 60 medals spent and page three at 230, so claiming all 300 takes at least 262 medals spent inside that Warbond. Other Premium Warbonds set their own thresholds, so treat 262 as one worked example, not a rule.

Medal pay depends on difficulty. The wiki’s medal page puts a full operation at 1 medal on Trivial, 18 on Hard and 36 on Super Helldive, with 15 more for each daily Personal Order. That is the awkward part of a free Warbond: Super Credits are easiest to find on low difficulties, and medals pay best on high ones. Our guide to farming medals covers that side, including the 250 medal cap.

How many Super Credits you still have to farm
Putting the payouts against the price gives four common cases. The numbers below are subtraction from the figures above, nothing more.
| Your situation | Credits still to find | Stacks of 10 |
|---|---|---|
| First Premium Warbond, Mobilize fully claimed | 250 | 25 |
| First Premium Warbond, Mobilize pages 1 to 5 only | 500 | 50 |
| Next Premium Warbond, 300 claimed from the last one | 700 | 70 |
| Premium Warbond with nothing banked | 1,000 | 100 |
| ODST Legendary Warbond | 1,500 | 150 |
Every rare 100-credit stack you find cuts nine stacks off your count.
How long it takes to farm a Warbond for free: player-reported rates
Arrowhead has never published a Super Credit rate, and the wiki does not give one. The rates below come from players’ own reports in Steam Community discussions, not from any official source. All of them date from 2024; we found no newer measured figures, and maps have changed since, including Super Credits being added to Factory Worlds in the 7.0.0 patch of August 12, 2026.
| How they played | Reported rate | Posted |
|---|---|---|
| Normal play, not hunting credits | 20 to 50 per hour | February 2024 |
| Difficulty 3, every point of interest | About 100 in 2 hours solo, 200 in 2 hours with a friend | April 2024 |
| Difficulty 2, about 2 hours, then higher difficulties | Over 300 in that session | March 2024 |
| Difficulty 1, solo | 20 to 30 per run, 150 to 200 per hour | August 2024 |
| Trivial or Blitz missions, played efficiently | Around 200 or more per hour | April 2024 |
| Difficulty 1, full four-player squad | Around 500 per hour | December 2024 |
The reports disagree in two ways. One May 2024 post says Trivial maps were cut to about half their points of interest and recommends difficulty 2 instead, while the August and December 2024 posts still favour difficulty 1. A returning player in December 2024 also said credit gains felt lower than at launch, while others in the same months reported 200 to 500 an hour. Squad size explains part of the spread, because only two players can open a bunker without a Warp Pack. Some posts also quote 1,000 an hour or more from quitting and reloading the same mission; we leave that out. Arrowhead’s Super Credits & A Fairer Galactic War post of July 9, 2026 says players “grinding maps, clearing POIs, looting bunkers” are unaffected by its new monitoring, which targets rates far above anything legitimate players reach.
Dividing the credits still needed by those reported rates gives these rough hours:
| Credits to find | At 50 per hour (casual) | At 150 to 200 per hour (solo, difficulty 1) | At about 500 per hour (full squad, difficulty 1) | Runs at 20 to 30 per run |
|---|---|---|---|---|
| 250 | 5 hours | 1.3 to 1.7 hours | About 30 minutes | 9 to 13 |
| 500 | 10 hours | 2.5 to 3.3 hours | About 1 hour | 17 to 25 |
| 700 | 14 hours | 3.5 to 4.7 hours | About 1.4 hours | 24 to 35 |
| 1,000 | 20 hours | 5 to 6.7 hours | About 2 hours | 34 to 50 |
| 1,500 | 30 hours | 7.5 to 10 hours | About 3 hours | 50 to 75 |

In practice, the usual case is the next Premium Warbond with 300 already claimed: 700 credits, or 24 to 35 solo Trivial runs. Add the medals it takes to claim that Warbond’s own 300 afterwards. If you would rather not spend those hours, the credits can be bought instead.

Can you get a Premium Warbond in Helldivers 2 without paying?
Yes. Super Credits drop at points of interest and appear inside the free and Premium Warbonds, and 1,000 of them buys a Premium Warbond.
How many Super Credits does the free Warbond give?
750 across its ten pages, per the wiki: 100 on each of pages 1 to 5 and 50 on each of pages 6 to 10. Page 10 opens only after 1,200 medals spent in it.
How long does it take to farm 1,000 Super Credits?
Not confirmed officially. Player reports from 2024 range from about 20 hours at a casual 50 per hour to roughly 2 hours in a full squad on difficulty 1.
Do Major Orders or the Superstore give Super Credits?
No. The wiki lists Major Order rewards as medals, Requisition Slips, equipment and Stratagems, and the Superstore only sells items for Super Credits.
Can you farm a Legendary Warbond for free?
Yes, but it costs more. Arrowhead prices the ODST Legendary Warbond at 1,500, and the wiki says Legendary Warbonds contain no Super Credits to pay any of it back.
Is it faster to farm on high or low difficulty?
For credits, players and the wiki point to Trivial to Medium, where points of interest are denser. For the medals that unlock Warbond pages, higher difficulties pay more per operation.
