MW4 Season 1 New Weapons: How to Unlock All Four

MW4 Season 1 adds four weapons. The Cronen Osprey assault rifle unlocks at Battle Pass Tier 16 and the CSG-35 SMG at Tier 36, both free when Season 1 starts on November 6, 2026. The JAK 12 full-auto shotgun and the ZLR Talonhawk axe come later in the season as event rewards. Each gun also has its own Apex Attachment.

All MW4 Season 1 weapons and how to unlock them

Activision says the Season 1 Battle Pass has “two new (and free) Base Weapons”, so you do not need the premium pass for the Osprey or the CSG-35. You do need to reach their tiers on the 100-tier track. The pass also has a Blueprint for each gun, at Tier 87 for the Osprey and Tier 73 for the CSG-35. Activision has not said which events will award the JAK 12 and the Talonhawk, or when.

Season 1 goes live at midnight ET on November 6 (9 PM PT on November 5), on all platforms. That is 05:00 UTC on November 6, converted by us. US clocks fall back on November 1, so this is Eastern Standard Time.

Cronen Osprey: Tier 16 assault rifle

The Cronen Osprey is a 5.56 assault rifle with an 882 RPM fire rate. Activision says only the M4 rivals it for rate of fire among assault rifles. It recoils up and to the right in sustained fire, which Activision suggests countering with steady aim or bursts.

• Weapon levels: 70
• Magazine: 30 rounds, 90 reserve
• Attachment slots: optic, muzzle, barrel, underbarrel, magazine, rear grip, stock, laser, ammunition
• Apex Attachment, Cronen Helix Mk. II: a double-barrel receiver that fires on both trigger pull and release. Activision’s weapon card shows it with 60 rounds and 120 in reserve.

CSG-35: Tier 36 SMG with 1200 RPM

The CSG-35 has the highest fire rate in its class at 1200 RPM. Activision says its damage per round is modest but it overwhelms enemies “within 20 meters”; past that, the climbing recoil makes it hard to stay on target.

• Weapon levels: 42
• Magazine: 28 rounds, 112 reserve
• Attachment slots: optic, muzzle, underbarrel, magazine, rear grip, stock, laser, ammunition (no barrel slot)
• Apex Attachment, CSG Crossfire: dual-wield akimbo CSG-35s that trade accuracy for volume. The weapon card lists it at 1199 RPM with 30 rounds and 90 reserve.

JAK 12 and ZLR Talonhawk: in-season event rewards

Both arrive after Season 1 launch and unlock through events, not the Battle Pass.

JAK 12 full-auto shotgun

The JAK 12 fires 323 RPM with an 8-round magazine and 16 in reserve. Its weapon level count is listed as [CLASSIFIED]. Activision pitches it as a breaching tool: accuracy falls off fast and it kicks hard, so it is for the far side of a door. Its Apex Attachment, JAK Barrage, fires adhesive explosives that stick to surfaces and targets before detonating.

ZLR Talonhawk combat axe

The ZLR Talonhawk is a melee combat axe with 10 weapon levels and Mastery Badges, and it takes no attachments.

New Season 1 attachments for existing guns

Season 1 also adds attachments for weapons you already have, all arriving in-season:

The Wager Match event uses Trophies as its currency. In Multiplayer you earn them in the Gauntlet 1v1 Gunfight playlist, with other challenges in DMZ and Warzone. Do the October 28 balance changes affect the new guns?

No. The Osprey, CSG-35, JAK 12 and Talonhawk are not in the game yet, so the October 28 tuning pass did not touch them. It did change guns they will compete with, including the M4, Hyeon Burst, Kastov 762 and five launch SMGs. Our MW4 October 28 patch breakdown lists those changes.
