MW4 Shipment Release Date: October 27 and What Follows

Shipment comes to Modern Warfare 4 on Tuesday, October 27, 2026, four days after the October 23 launch. Activision’s official roadmap lists it under “Coming Soon”, followed by the new Possession Mode on October 29, Infected on October 30 and Season 1 for MW4 and Warzone on November 6. Activision has not announced an hour for any of these dates.

All of these dates come from one image: the “Road Ahead Starts With Early Access” roadmap that the official Call of Duty account posted on October 14, 2026. Shipment is not on the October 23 map list, so it is not playable at launch.

MW4 Shipment release date and the rest of the launch roadmap

The roadmap gives a date for each step but no time of day, so there is nothing to convert into other time zones. Treat each date as the day the content is due, not a confirmed unlock hour.

Activision’s October 15 launch post confirms the two early access dates and adds the usual footnote that play time is subject to outages and time zone differences. What Shipment is, and why it arrives after launch

Shipment is one of the oldest maps in the series. The community-run Call of Duty Wiki lists it first in Call of Duty 4: Modern Warfare (2007), with later versions in Modern Warfare Remastered, Modern Warfare (2019), Vanguard, Modern Warfare II and Modern Warfare III. The wiki describes it as a very small storage area of cargo containers built for close-quarters fighting, and quotes the original Call of Duty 4 description: “Tiny Russian shipyard. Fast paced action with no hiding.”

Activision has not said why Shipment is held back to October 27, and it has not published a description of this version. The roadmap art shows containers, oil drums and a burnt-out car in an urban yard, but whether the layout matches an earlier Shipment is Not confirmed.

It is also not one of the 12 Core maps Activision described at the reveal. The May 28 announcement says MW4 launches with “12 Core launch maps” plus Kill Block, dedicated Gunfight maps and Big War maps; the full list is in our guide to MW4 maps at launch.

Possession and Infected: the two modes after Shipment

Two days after Shipment, Possession Mode arrives on October 29. The roadmap marks it “New” and gives it a pumpkin icon, but Activision has not published its rules. Infected follows on October 30. Neither mode is on the October 23 list, and whether either stays after Halloween is Not confirmed.

MW4 Season 1 starts November 6 for MW4 and Warzone

The last tile on the roadmap is Season 1 on November 6, labelled for both Modern Warfare 4 and Warzone. Activision’s August pre-Beta post had already said Warzone is updated with MW4 content at Season 1. The Season 1 maps, weapons and Battle Pass have not been announced yet.
