Activision has not announced a date for MW4 Ranked Play, and it is not on the official launch roadmap, which runs to Season 1 on November 6, 2026. The last three Call of Duty games added Ranked Play 26 to 83 days after launch. Expect it some time after October 23, but treat any exact date as unconfirmed until Activision posts one.

Is Ranked Play on the MW4 launch roadmap?
No. Activision’s launch roadmap, posted on October 14, lists everything from early access to Season 1. Ranked Play is not on it.

Never on launch day in the last three games. The gap ran from under four weeks to almost three months.

The Modern Warfare III date comes from Activision’s Season 1 Reloaded blog. The Black Ops 6 date is from Shacknews, which reported Treyarch moving it up by a day. For Black Ops 7, Destructoid’s Season 2 preview announced Ranked Play for February 5, and Gaming Trend’s launch-day report confirmed Season 02 went live that day with Ranked Play.
When could MW4 Ranked Play start?
Adding the same 26 to 83 days to MW4’s October 23 launch gives November 18, 2026 to January 14, 2027. That is simple arithmetic on past games, not a prediction from Activision, and MW4 can fall outside it.
For context, Black Ops 6 added Ranked Play about a week after its Season 1 began, Modern Warfare III added it with Season 1 Reloaded, and Black Ops 7 added it with Season 2.
How to unlock Ranked Play in MW4
Activision has not announced the unlock requirement for MW4. In Modern Warfare III, the official blog said Ranked Play opened at Level 55, and it used Call of Duty League rules: 4v4, restricted weapons and Friendly Fire on.

Is Ranked Play available at MW4 launch?
Not confirmed, and it is not on Activision’s launch roadmap. None of the last three Call of Duty games had Ranked Play on launch day.
Will MW4 Ranked Play come with Season 1?
Not confirmed. Season 1 starts on November 6, 2026, but Activision has not said whether Ranked Play is part of it.
What level do you need for MW4 Ranked Play?
Not announced. Modern Warfare III required Level 55; Activision has not said whether MW4 uses a level requirement.
Is MW4 Ranked Play 4v4?
Not confirmed for MW4. Modern Warfare III’s Ranked Play used Call of Duty League rules with 4v4 teams.
Does Warzone get Ranked Play in MW4?
Not announced. Warzone moves to MW4 content with Season 1 on November 6.
