The newest Helldivers 2 Warbond is Ironclad Democracy, released September 22, 2026 for 1,000 Super Credits. It holds three weapons, two throwables, two Boosters, two armour sets and the first tank-exclusive patterns in a Premium Warbond, and costs 803 Medals to finish. The one after it has not been announced — and the last six Premium Warbonds were each revealed about a week before release.

Helldivers 2 Warbond release dates in 2026

Two questions get asked here, and they have different answers. “What is the new Warbond” has a firm answer. “When is the next one” does not — but the pattern behind it is more useful than a guess.

For Premium Warbonds the announce-to-release gap is remarkably consistent: seven days for Python Commandos, Siege Breakers, Entrenched Division, Exo Experts and Ironclad Democracy, and nine for Redacted Regiment. Six for six.

Legendary Warbonds do not follow it. Castellan’s Creed was announced on May 21 and did not arrive until August 12 — nearly three months. So the week-of-notice pattern is a Premium Warbond pattern, and a Legendary reveal tells you much less about timing.

The release gaps are not consistent at all either. Premium Warbonds came roughly every four to six weeks through early 2026, then nothing between Exo Experts on April 28 and Ironclad Democracy on September 22 — almost five months, with Castellan’s Creed the only Warbond in between.

So the practical answer to “when is the next Warbond”: if it is a Premium one you will get about a week’s notice, and there is no monthly cadence to count on any more. Arrowhead’s original Warbonds FAQ, posted on the official Discord in February 2024, said Warbonds would arrive “every second Thursday of the month” — the dates above show that stopped being true a long time ago.

What is in the Ironclad Democracy Warbond

The full contents, from Arrowhead’s own announcement on September 15. The theme is armour and tanks, and the armour passive is the part worth reading twice. Our separate Ironclad Democracy Warbond breakdown goes item by item.

Weapons

  • AR-11 Arbitrator (Primary, 35 Medals) — an assault rifle with an underslung shotgun
  • GL-15 Evictor (Primary, 65 Medals) — a pump-action grenade launcher with a manual single-round reload
  • P-34 Breacher (Secondary, 50 Medals) — a missile pistol firing sticky, phosphorous-fuelled projectiles

Throwables

  • G-60 Anti-Tank Seeker (65 Medals) — a grenade delivery drone that tracks your movement, then homes in on nearby enemies
  • G-8 Immolation (35 Medals) — trades explosive damage for a blanket of fire

Armour and the Blunt-Force Mitigation passive

  • BFM-16 Tanker — Light Armor, 45 Medals (helmet 30 Medals separately)
  • BFM-220 Ironclad — Heavy Armor, 55 Medals (helmet 45 Medals separately)

Both use the new Blunt-Force Mitigation passive. Arrowhead describes it as making Helldivers “more resistant to being knocked off their feet when under attack” and reducing “any damage taken from impact and collisions by 30%”, on top of a higher armour rating. That 30% figure is the only hard number in the official armour description.

Boosters

  • Surplus EAT Allocation (65 Medals) — two free uses of the Expendable Anti-Tank Stratagem per mission, which Arrowhead notes is “enough to grant a full squad one single-use rocket launcher each”
  • Integrated Extinguishers (55 Medals) — reduces the time it takes to put out flames

Everything else

  • Capes: Standard of Rapid Evacuation (8 Medals), Shroud of the Juggernaut (25 Medals)
  • Player Cards for both capes (2 and 7 Medals)
  • Emote: Helmet Durability Check (20 Medals)
  • Title: Treadhead (20 Medals)
  • Tank-exclusive patterns: Verdant Camouflage (20), Glacial Polymer (50), Executive Onyx (55)
  • 300 Super Credits, spread across the three pages at 7, 12 and 32 Medals

Arrowhead flags those patterns as “A Premium Warbond First” — its wording, and worth keeping precise: the claim is a first for Premium Warbonds, not for the game. The community-run Helldivers Wiki adds two more firsts: Ironclad Democracy is the first Premium Warbond with two Boosters and the first with two Throwables, and the first since Freedom’s Flame to contain no new Stratagems.

What Ironclad Democracy costs to buy and to finish

Two separate costs, and people mix them up constantly. Super Credits unlock the Warbond. Medals unlock the things inside it.

CostAmount
To unlock the Warbond1,000 Super Credits
Super Credits you can claim back from inside it300
Net Super Credit cost700
Medals spent to open page 2135
Medals spent to open page 3225
Medals to claim every item803

The page costs are 182, 299 and 322 Medals, which add up to the 803 total. The 300 Super Credits inside are why the net cost of any Premium Warbond is 700 rather than 1,000 once you have claimed all three 100-credit rewards — you get roughly a third of the entry fee back as you work through it. That is also the cheapest way to build towards the next one, and our guide to farming Super Credits covers the rest.

803 Medals makes this one of the more expensive Premium Warbonds to complete. The average across all 21 Premium Warbonds is 736, and six cost more than Ironclad Democracy: Entrenched Division (888), Force of Law (873), Dust Devils (863), Siege Breakers (853), Urban Legends (836) and Chemical Agents (814). If you are choosing between it and an older track, our breakdown of every Warbond ranked has the full cost table.

Do Warbonds expire?

No, and this is the single most useful thing to know if you are behind. Arrowhead’s FAQ is explicit that Warbonds “are evergreen, so players are welcome to take their time in unlocking” them, and that old Warbonds can still be bought a year later. There is no seasonal cutoff and nothing rotates out.

Two related points from the same FAQ. You cannot buy a Warbond with money directly — you buy Super Credits, then spend those. And you keep earning Medals whether or not you have an unlocked Warbond waiting.

That second point has a ceiling, though, and it is the one thing to know before you start hoarding for a future Warbond. The wiki puts a hard cap of 250 Medals on what you can hold, and states that anything earned beyond it is discarded. So you can stockpile roughly a third of this Warbond’s 803 and no more — past 250 the missions stop paying. Farming Medals is therefore something to do while you are spending, not instead of spending.

What else landed with Ironclad Democracy

The same day, September 22, Arrowhead shipped patch 7.1.0 — version 1.007.100 in-game — as part of the Devoid of Liberty update cycle. It contains no new Warbond content, but it is a substantial balance pass, and two changes matter if you are taking the new gear out:

  • Enemy spawning was reworked. Spawns are now weighted by how much enemy pressure each Helldiver is under and how far away enemies are, which Arrowhead says should stop the “feeling of roaming into empty outposts” when a squad spreads out. Enemies too far from any player get despawned when the count goes over budget.
  • Evacuate High-Value Assets got significantly harder. More waves, more enemies per wave, and the gaps between waves cut from 60 to 42 seconds at the start and 40 to 28 at the end. Arrowhead’s stated reason is that the mission “had fallen behind in difficulty”. It also now has ten common samples to collect and randomised loot placement.

The patch also buffed the AR/GL-21 One-Two’s grenade ammo and cut the LAS-13 Trident’s vertical recoil from 12 to 2, correcting what Arrowhead calls an unintended side effect of coding the Meltagun’s beam system.

How many Warbonds are there now?

Twenty-five: one free Standard Warbond (Helldivers Mobilize!), 21 Premium and three Legendary. Ironclad Democracy is the twenty-first Premium.

The Helldivers Wiki noted on September 18, 2026 that finishing every Warbond then cost 18,522 Medals. Adding Ironclad Democracy’s 803 takes that to 19,325 Medals to own everything in the game — which is the number to weigh up when you are deciding whether to chase a new Warbond or finish an old one.

Ironclad Democracy needs 1,000 Super Credits to open and 803 Medals to empty. These are the ways we cover both, from the rest of our Helldivers 2 items.

Frequently asked questions

What is the newest Helldivers 2 Warbond?

Ironclad Democracy, released September 22, 2026. It is the twenty-first Premium Warbond and the twenty-fifth overall.

When is the next Helldivers 2 Warbond?

Not announced. The last six Premium Warbonds were each revealed about a week ahead — seven days in five cases, nine in the sixth — so expect roughly that much notice if the next one is Premium. Legendary Warbonds are different: Castellan’s Creed was announced nearly three months before it launched.

How much does Ironclad Democracy cost?

1,000 Super Credits to unlock, with 300 Super Credits claimable from inside it, so 700 net. Completing it takes 803 Medals.

What does the Blunt-Force Mitigation passive do?

Arrowhead says it makes you more resistant to being knocked off your feet and reduces damage from impacts and collisions by 30%, alongside a higher armour rating. It is on both the BFM-16 Tanker light armour and the BFM-220 Ironclad heavy armour.

Are there new Stratagems in Ironclad Democracy?

No. The Helldivers Wiki notes it is the first Premium Warbond since Freedom’s Flame with no new Stratagems. It has two Boosters and two Throwables instead, both firsts for a Premium Warbond.

Will Ironclad Democracy go away if I do not buy it now?

No. Arrowhead’s FAQ states Warbonds are evergreen and do not expire, and that Warbonds from a year ago can still be purchased.

Is the TD-110 Maelstrom tank part of the Warbond?

No. The tank arrived in the same September 22 patch but it is not a Warbond item. The Warbond’s tank connection is cosmetic — the three tank-exclusive patterns.

Two notes on the wiki’s own figures. First, its Ironclad Democracy infobox labels the “All Pages Unlocked” and “All Items Unlocked” rows with a Super Credits icon; both are Medal counts, since the three page costs (182, 299, 322) sum to the 803 “all items” figure. Every other Warbond page labels the same rows as Medals.

Second, that infobox gives “All Pages Unlocked” as 360, which is the two page thresholds (135 and 225) added together. On thirteen other Warbond pages the same field equals the last threshold rather than the sum, so the thresholds are cumulative and 225 is the figure that matters — the point at which page three opens. We have used 135 and 225 above and left the 360 out.
