Battlefield 6 Season 5 Release Date: What Arrives Oct 13

Battlefield 6 Season 5 starts on October 13, 2026, on PC, PlayStation 5 and Xbox Series X|S. It moves the fight to Las Vegas with two new maps at launch, including Area 51, and a third later in the season. REDSEC gets Rapid Royale Solos and Trios and the official launch of Ranked Battle Royale. EA has not announced a start hour; its update notes are due on October 12.

The date comes from EA’s Season 5 gameplay trailer announcement of October 6, which says all-out warfare “goes all-in on Oct 13.” Season 5 is also the start of Year 2 for Battlefield 6 and REDSEC. Battlefield 6 Season 5 release date and time

New Las Vegas maps in Season 5

EA’s September 30 Community Update says Season 5 has three new maps across the whole season, with two ready at launch. The trailer post names the setting and one map:

• A Las Vegas Strip map: the trailer says war “erupts on the Las Vegas strip,” and EA’s map art shows the Strip at night.
• Area 51: a new Battlefield 6 map where you defend “highly classified secrets.” Our Vegas Strip and Area 51 map guide covers the key areas.
• Third map: arrives later in the season. EA has not named it or dated it.

Both launch maps also join Portal as Verified Portal Experiences from the start of the season, with Custom Experiences support later.

Siege of Las Vegas: the Dead Space Halloween event

EA’s trailer post says the Siege of Las Vegas season brings new weapons, new hardware and a limited-time Dead Space Halloween event. It is a new PvE experience built around a mysterious artifact that “threatens to corrupt the world.” Our Dead Space event guide covers the dates and rewards EA has since announced.

EA has not published the event’s dates, rewards or how many new weapons arrive at launch. We will add them once the October 12 update notes are out.

REDSEC in Season 5: Rapid Royale and Ranked Battle Royale

The Battle Royale side changes the most on day one. According to EA:

• Rapid Royale Solos and Trios join at the start of Season 5. It is a shorter, faster Battle Royale that was tested in Battlefield Labs.
• Ranked Battle Royale officially launches, alongside the new Open Series competition.
• Battle Royale Solos and Duos rotation ends. EA plans to bring Duos back later in Season 5, and its current plan is to rotate Rapid Royale Solos with Battle Royale Duos.
• Gauntlet is removed from the active playlist lineup because too few players were queuing for it. EA says it could return.
• The Phantom Program stays active beyond Season 4.
• Reconnect lets you rejoin an active match after a crash or disconnect.

Gameplay changes coming with Season 5

EA’s October 1 Season 5 preview lists changes it is “currently exploring,” and says any of them can still change. For both Battlefield 6 and REDSEC:

• Vehicle health regeneration and directional damage changes, to reward infantry who flank.
• Mobile anti-air cannons more effective against aircraft, and laser designators that need steadier tracking to hold a lock.
• Less Little Bird splash damage against infantry, and air resupply pad cooldowns that are now per vehicle class.
• An attachment tuning pass and animation polish for some weapons and gadgets.

For Battle Royale only, armor plating is 20% faster for every class, class training paths are rebalanced, and several weapon types take one more bullet to kill armored targets at set ranges. For example, 5.56 assault rifles and LMGs need an extra bullet past 46 meters. Class gadgets such as the Defibrillator and Supply Bag also move into the loot pool.

The Crashed Carrier, a downed US aircraft carrier off Fort Lyndon with higher-value loot than standard points of interest, becomes available to build with in Portal.

What carries over from Season 4

EA has not announced any progression reset for Season 5. Your rank, weapons and unlocks are not mentioned as changing in either the trailer post or the Community Update. For leveling the weapons you already use, see how long it takes to max a weapon for the leveling math.
