Level the Fortnite Battle Pass quickly by stacking quests with playtime XP. The Fortnite Wiki lists 80,000 XP per level: weekly quests pay 20,000, story stages 10,000, and daily quests 1,000 plus 25,000 bonus steps. GameRant lists Fortnitemares quests at 15,000 each. One community report puts Creative near 4.8 million XP weekly and found no LEGO or Festival cap.
Fortnite’s XP (Season XP) levels up every pass at the same time: the Battle Pass, LEGO Pass, Music Pass and OG Pass. You can earn it in any Fortnite experience, which Epic’s Battle Pass page states outright. Epic does not publish an XP table, so the per-quest numbers below come from the community-run Fortnite Wiki, checked on October 2, 2026. Playtime caps come from community testing.
No one has published a side-by-side XP-per-hour test of every mode, so this guide does not name one method as the fastest. It shows what each source pays, which ones are capped, and how the numbers add up across a season. Quest rewards change between seasons, so the method still applies after Chapter 7 Season 4 even when the exact numbers move.
How much XP a Fortnite Battle Pass level takes
The Fortnite Wiki’s Chapter 7 Season 4 page lists 80,000 XP per Battle Pass level. The wiki gives one flat figure, so the totals below simply multiply it out.
| Goal | Total XP at 80,000 per level | What it gets you |
|---|---|---|
| Level 100 | 8,000,000 | All 100 regular rewards, including the 800 V-Bucks |
| Level 200 | 16,000,000 | The highest level you can buy with V-Bucks; Bonus Rewards keep unlocking past 100 for paid pass holders |
The wiki’s Battle Pass page says the paid pass has 100 rewards, 85 of them cosmetics, plus 800 V-Bucks. Past level 100, paid holders unlock Bonus Rewards such as extra styles. Free-pass players can level past 100 too, but they don’t get those bonus items.
Buying levels instead of earning XP
According to the same wiki pages, you can buy single levels for 150 V-Bucks each, up to 100 of them, and never past level 200. This season the 25-level bundle costs 1,800 V-Bucks on top of the 800 V-Bucks pass. Epic’s Battle Pass page confirms the pass itself costs 800 V-Bucks and pays back up to 800. What that is in real money is in our Fortnite V-Bucks prices guide. Our guide to free V-Bucks in Fortnite covers what else you can earn without paying.

Fortnite quest XP: daily, weekly and story quests
All figures in this section come from the Fortnite Wiki’s Chapter 7 Season 4 quest pages. Dexerto’s season quest list also gives 20,000 XP per weekly quest.
| Quest type | XP per completion | How often |
|---|---|---|
| Daily quests | 1,000 each | Three at a time, refreshed daily |
| Daily quest bonus (“Complete Daily Quests in any experience”) | 25,000 at the 1st, 2nd and 3rd completion | Listed in the This Week tab |
| Weekly quests | 20,000 each | A new batch each week; stay open until the season ends |
| Story quest stages (Geno, Wrixel) | 10,000 per stage | One-time per season |
The wiki lists the daily bonus as three 25,000 XP steps but does not say how often that counter resets. We have not added it up per day for that reason. The 1,000 XP base is small; most daily value is in that bonus.
Weekly quests add up. As of October 2, the wiki’s This Week quest list shows 33 active weekly quests across Weeks 1 to 6. That is 660,000 XP, a little over 8 levels. Weekly quests stay available until the season ends, so a late start can still catch up on them.
The story quest page lists 10,000 XP for most stages. Geno’s line has eight stages plus a final 5,000 XP step that needs a code in the lobby Admin Panel.
Quests are the reliable part, but they top out. At 80,000 XP per level, even every weekly quest this season covers only a small share of a 100-level pass. The rest has to come from playtime.
Fortnite Battle Pass Leveling (1-200)If you'd rather not grind it: level 100 alone is 8,000,000 XP at 80,000 per level. From $4.31View offerCreative, LEGO and Festival XP caps
Playtime XP is where most levels come from, and it is also where the caps live. Epic has not published weekly cap numbers. What Epic does say, in its developer documentation for the Accolades device, is that Creative XP has diminishing returns. Once you pass a threshold across all Creative islands, each accolade pays less. Repeating the same actions or the same island also cuts XP. Island creators cannot turn this off.
The cap figures below are community testing reported by one outlet, not official numbers, and they change between seasons.
| Mode | Reported playtime rate | Reported weekly cap |
|---|---|---|
| Creative (uncalibrated island) | 2,700 XP/min | About 4.8 million XP (about 60 levels) |
| LEGO Brick Life | 2,750 XP/min | None found |
| LEGO Odyssey | 2,700 XP/min | None found |
| Festival Jam Stage | 2,900 XP/min, plus 350 XP per 30 seconds in a jam circle | None found |
Source: All Things How, September 1, 2026, a single source. It says the Creative cap resets on Thursdays at 9 AM Eastern. At its LEGO Brick Life rate, one 80,000 XP level is roughly 29 minutes of playtime.
Treat these as a snapshot. In December 2024, GameSpot reported dataminer figures that were very different. LEGO, Reload and OG shared one weekly pool of about 21 levels, Creative capped near 11 levels, and Festival had a daily cap of just over one level. Epic can change these limits with a hotfix, so check current community reports before a long session.

What this means in practice
- Use Creative XP islands until you notice gains drop, then switch modes.
- Move to LEGO or Festival Jam Stage for longer sessions.
- Calibrated islands may pay differently from the uncalibrated rate above. Epic’s documentation says XP weights are set after a calibration period and reset when an island is republished.
Battle Royale match XP and the More XP Override
Battle Royale pays XP through accolades, small rewards for actions in a match. The wiki’s XP page lists 150 XP per elimination, 8,000 XP for discovering a named location and 755 XP for searching a Supply Llama. That page is flagged as needing a rework, so treat its values as approximate.
This season adds one Battle Royale-specific boost. Epic’s v42.00 update notes list a More XP Override, which gives more XP from eliminations, looting and surviving the Storm. Whoever reaches an Override Console first picks the modifier for the whole lobby. The notes do not give a multiplier.

Lobby Hack codes from the same notes can also grant XP when entered in the lobby Admin Panel. Codes are time-limited and Epic posts them in different places, so we have not listed any here.
Fortnitemares 2026: how event quests add XP
Seasonal events stack a second quest line on top of the regular one. Fortnitemares 2026 is the current example. Epic’s October 1 announcement says it runs across Battle Royale, Horde Rush and Reload.

GameRant’s October 1 quest list reports these details:
- Each Nitemare quest pays 15,000 XP.
- Eight quests opened on day one. More arrive every Thursday at 9 AM ET.
- Finishing 26 quests unlocks the free Jack-a-Nape outfit.
- The questline can be completed until October 31, 2026.
Epic’s post does not give an end date for the quests. If all 26 pay 15,000 XP, that is 390,000 XP, just under 5 levels.
The lesson carries over to any event: event quests are worth doing because they are one-time XP on top of your weekly cap. They are not a replacement for playtime.
How long 100 or 200 Battle Pass levels take
Nobody has timed a full pass under the current caps, so we can’t give an hours figure. Here is what the numbers above do support.
- At 80,000 XP per level, 100 levels is 8 million XP and 200 levels is 16 million.
- Weekly quests listed so far cover about 8 levels; Fortnitemares quests about 5 more.
- If the reported Creative cap of about 60 levels a week holds, Creative alone could cover 100 levels in under two weeks of capped play. That depends on the cap and on calibrated islands, both of which can change.
Epic’s Battle Pass page says the Override pass ends on November 1, 2026 Eastern Time. Our Chapter 7 Season 4 end date guide covers what you lose if you don’t finish before then.
A simple plan to level up the Fortnite Battle Pass fast
- Complete the daily quests, and claim the 25,000 XP bonus steps whenever the counter is available; the cited wiki does not state its reset cadence.
- Clear every weekly quest, including older weeks you missed.
- Do the story quest stages and any live event quests, like Fortnitemares.
- Play Creative XP islands until gains drop, then switch to LEGO or Festival Jam Stage.
- In Battle Royale, grab the More XP Override when you see it.
