Bulkhead slowed WARDOGS levelling for Season 1 on purpose. Its changelog lists XP figures that rise 40% at level 10 and 124% at level 20 versus the beta, with smaller increases from 35 up, and says a median player at 20 to 25 hours “will be around level 20” (Bulkhead, Season 1 Changelog, September 9, 2026). XP-farm servers now mean a permanent ban.
WARDOGS Season 1 XP curve: the official numbers

The changelog publishes the role-track XP figure at each milestone level, before and after the rebalance. Bulkhead’s wording is “Level 10: 25,000 to 35,000, 40.0% slower”; the notes do not say whether these are cumulative totals or the cost of that level alone, so read the column as “the XP figure Bulkhead attaches to that level” and the percentage as the official slowdown (Bulkhead, Season 1 Changelog, September 9, 2026).
| Level | Beta XP | Season 1 XP | Change |
|---|---|---|---|
| Below 6 | Unchanged | ||
| 6 | 8,750 | 9,250 | 5.7% slower |
| 10 | 25,000 | 35,000 | 40.0% slower |
| 15 | 54,750 | 110,000 | 100.9% slower |
| 20 | 111,500 | 250,000 | 124.2% slower |
| 25 | 192,000 | 325,000 | 69.3% slower |
| 30 | 293,750 | 400,000 | 36.2% slower |
| 35 | 416,500 | 500,000 | 20.0% slower |
| 40 | 551,250 | 650,000 | 17.9% slower |
| 45 | 689,500 | 800,000 | 16.0% slower |
| 50 | 838,000 | 1,000,000 | 19.3% slower |
What the table does and does not tell you. It confirms where Bulkhead added the most XP: the increases peak at levels 15 and 20 (101% and 124%) and shrink to 16 to 20% from level 35 up. Because Bulkhead does not say whether each figure is a running total or the cost of that single level, it cannot be used to work out how long any particular level takes, and this guide does not try. Bulkhead’s own summary is that “those wanting the big ticket items, the top 5%, will need to grind.” The studio also says the curve is seasonal: “Each season we will have a different XP curve with different item orders.”
Two XP events changed at the same time: a player kill from an air vehicle dropped from 300 to 250 XP, and selling a supply-crate item worth under $75 now gives 1 XP instead of 25 (Bulkhead, Season 1 Changelog).
Wardogs Wardog Level BoostWardog Level Boost: the account-wide track that Bulkhead slowed at levels 10 to 20 for Season 1.From $12.00View offerWARDOGS role tracks: what Bulkhead has confirmed
WARDOGS tracks progression per role as well as on the account-wide Career track; the Season 1 changelog names the Career, Medic, Support, Driver, Pilot and Recon tracks when it moves unlocks between them, and says it rebalanced “the role track XP curve from level 6 upward”. Beyond that, Bulkhead has confirmed three things that affect how you spend your time:
- Each role has its own unlocks. The table in the next section shows which items sit on which track after the Season 1 changes, so the role you level decides which gear you open up.
- Teamplay pays cash. The Steam store page says “Every teamplay action you perform rewards cash”, from reviving squadmates to transporting friendlies to the zone (Bulkhead, Steam store page, September 2026). Bulkhead has not said how much XP those same actions give, so this is a cash point, not an XP ranking.
- The Hot Zone doubles cash. The store page says you “earn double the cash” there. No matching XP multiplier has been published.
Bulkhead has not published per-action XP values beyond the two events in the section above, so any claim that one class levels fastest is not something the official material supports.

Pilot and Driver unlocks that moved in Season 1
Season 1 re-ordered the Driver track “to give a satisfying escalation through attack vehicles” and moved two big-ticket items: the Heavy Tank from Career 35 to Driver 35, and the Artillery Tank from Career 55 to Career 90 (Bulkhead, Season 1 Changelog). The full list of Season 1 unlock moves:
| Track | Item | Beta level | Season 1 level |
|---|---|---|---|
| Career | Sports Parachute | 36 | 35 |
| Career | Large Backpack | 56 | 55 |
| Career | 7.62x54mm AP | 83 | 82 |
| Career | 5.56mm AP | 85 | 83 |
| Career | Deagle | 90 | 85 |
| Career | Artillery Tank | 55 | 90 |
| Medic | PP-19 50-round drum | 33 | 29 |
| Support | Large Hammer | 7 | 8 |
| Driver | URAL | 4 | 3 |
| Driver | Kodiak Assault | 8 | 6 |
| Driver | Dune Buggy | 10 | 8 |
| Driver | Kodiak Flatbed | 2 | 10 |
| Driver | Large Supply Crate | 20 | 16 |
| Driver | URAL Covered | 30 | 18 |
| Driver | Music Tape H | Pilot 28 | Driver 23 |
| Driver | URAL Attack | 40 | 25 |
| Driver | Humvee with minigun | 35 | 30 |
| Driver | Heavy Tank | Career 35 | Driver 35 |

The vendor side moved with it: the Forward Operating Base went from $2,500 to $7,500 and the Large Hammer from $1,600 to $2,400, so Support players who build them now pay more per structure. Pilot prices went both ways, with the Little Bird with miniguns doubling to $50,000 and the Z20 Lakota dropping to $35,000 (Bulkhead, Season 1 Changelog).
Community servers: the 5% bonus and what counts as XP farming

Patch 0.11 on September 14 split the browser into Official and Community tabs and, “by way of apology” for the state of community servers, added a bonus 5% end-of-match cash bonus on community servers for one week: “So if you’re looking to grind, we suggest jumping in a community server” (Bulkhead, Scheduled Maintenance & Patch 0.11, September 12, 2026). That is cash, not XP, and it expires around September 21.
The same post sets out the ban policy, and the XP line is the harshest one, quoted in full:
“XP farming. This will result in the most serious bans. We track every server you enter, and we are also very aware of which servers are XP farming servers. If your account is tracked as joining one of these servers for more than a few minutes, we will ban your account permanently.”
Cash exploits get a timed ban plus a reset of cash and XP to zero; publishing exploit tutorials is treated as advertising cheats and banned permanently. Bulkhead draws the line at repetition: “If you figure something out and test it once or twice, no biggy, thanks for helping us QA.” (Bulkhead, September 12, 2026.) Any levelling method that depends on a private server set up for farming is therefore off the table, and any booster who offers one is putting your account at risk.

Why does WARDOGS levelling feel slower after launch?
Because it is. Bulkhead’s Season 1 changelog slowed levels 10 to 20 by 40 to 124% versus the beta and flattened the curve from 35 upward.
What is the max level in WARDOGS?
Not confirmed by Bulkhead. The changelog’s role-track XP figures stop at level 50, and the Career track has an unlock at level 90, so the Career track goes at least that high.
Does the Hot Zone give double XP?
Not confirmed. The Steam store page promises double cash in the Hot Zone; no XP multiplier has been published.
Is joining a community server risky?
Bulkhead itself pointed grinders to community servers with a one-week 5% cash bonus. Servers set up for XP farming are the ones the studio says it tracks and bans for, permanently, after “more than a few minutes”.
Will the XP curve change again?
Yes, per Bulkhead: “Each season we will have a different XP curve with different item orders.” Season 2 content is in progress but has no date (Bulkhead, September 12, 2026). What resets and what carries over is in our Wardogs Season 2 wipe guide.
