Helldivers 2 Liberty Day 2026: Who Got the Free Liberator

Helldivers 2 Liberty Day 2026 has ended. Arrowhead’s gift was the AR-23L Liberator Legacy, a free rifle for every player who had played since September 26, 2026 at 00:00 CET, scheduled to be distributed when the celebration closed at 23:59 CET on October 26 (6:59 PM ET). No mission or Major Order was needed. The next Liberty Day falls on October 26, 2027.

Helldivers 2 Liberty Day 2026: who qualified for the free AR-23L Liberator Legacy

Arrowhead confirmed the details in a PlayStation Blog post on October 26, 2026, written by the studio. It calls the rifle the AR-23L Liberator Legacy, “modeled after weapons used in the First Galactic War”.

• Who qualified: all players who had played since September 26, 2026, 00:00 CET.
• Scheduled distribution: at the end of Liberty Day, 23:59 CET on October 26, 2026.
• Cost: free. Arrowhead has not said whether the rifle will be sold or offered another way later.

The official Liberty Day 2186 teaser on X, posted October 25 with the line “Get ready to dispense some Liberty.”, shows a Helldiver in black-and-yellow armor carrying the matching rifle.

Scheduled distribution: when the Liberty Day gift was due

Arrowhead gives the time as 23:59 CET. Central Europe had moved back to standard time (UTC+1) on October 25, while the US stayed on daylight time until November 1, so the converted times were:

The ship decorations (banners, rugs and party supplies) were only aboard Super Destroyers for 24 hours on October 26, according to the same post.

Missing the AR-23L Liberator Legacy?

The rule was based on having played at any point since September 26, not on logging in on Liberty Day itself. If you played in that window and the rifle is not in your Armory, restarting the game is a reasonable first step, though that is our general suggestion, not an official claim step. Arrowhead’s post only gives the scheduled distribution time and does not describe a claim process or a delivery timeline, so if it still does not appear, contact Arrowhead’s support.

If you had not played since September 26, you did not qualify, and Arrowhead has not announced a second way to get the rifle.

What is the AR-23L Liberator Legacy?

It is a separate item from the AR-23 Liberator that every player starts with in Helldivers 2. Arrowhead describes it only as a classic modeled after First Galactic War weapons that brings “a retro flair to modern loadouts”. It has not published stats, so we have not listed any.

Was there a Liberty Day Major Order in 2026?

Not for the gift. The rifle needed no mission or Major Order. The war did run a Liberty Day-themed operation, though. The community-run Helldivers Wiki Major Orders page records “Operation Memorial Eternal”, whose first phase asked Helldivers to liberate Fury, Esker and Zea Rugosia ahead of Liberty Day. The 2024 and 2025 entries below come from the community-run Helldivers Wiki, not from Arrowhead. Liberty Day falls on October 26 every year, and Arrowhead’s post says 2026 was its third year.

The next Liberty Day is October 26, 2027. Arrowhead has not said what the gift will be.
