MW4 Season 1 BlackCell goes live on November 6, 2026. Vault Edition owners get it included; everyone else buys it separately, at a price Activision has not published. It instantly unlocks the XERO Operator, 1,100 COD Points, the Perimeter Lance M4 Blueprint, 20 Tier Skips and more, has extra skin and Blueprint variants to earn through BlackCell Challenges, and adds seven BlackCell Operator Skins and seven Weapon Blueprints inside the Battle Pass.
The full list below is from Activision’s Season 1 announcement of October 28. BlackCell unlocks extra skins along the Battle Pass track, and our MW4 boosting page includes Battle Pass progress if you want them sooner.
How to get MW4 Season 1 BlackCell
- Vault Edition owners: you can unlock this season’s BlackCell offering as part of the edition.
- Digital Standard owners: you can upgrade to the Vault Edition later, as long as you upgrade on the same platform you bought the game on.
- Buying BlackCell directly: available from the BlackCell Page in the Battle Pass menu. Activision has not announced the price.
- Already bought the Battle Pass? If you upgrade to BlackCell afterwards, you get 1,100 COD Points back.
BlackCell and the Battle Pass both arrive with Season 1 at midnight ET on November 6 (9 PM PT on November 5), or 05:00 UTC on November 6 by our conversion. Buying or redeeming BlackCell instantly unlocks:
- The XERO BlackCell Operator
- 1,100 COD Points
- The “Perimeter Lance” M4 Signature Weapon Blueprint
- The “Dog Food” Companion Finishing Move
- A custom BlackCell lobby scene
- A Mastery Camo Track
- 20 Tier Skip Tokens
- A DMZ Survival Pack
- The “BlackCell” Clan Tag, shown in lobbies and After Action Reports
BlackCell Challenge rewards: not unlocked on purchase
These come with BlackCell but have to be earned by completing BlackCell Challenges:
- The “Cowled” and “Adder” skin variants for XERO
- The “Occultus” and “Exitium” variants of the Perimeter Lance Blueprint
- Exclusive Universal Weapon Camos, which Activision says it will reveal “in the coming days”
Activision has not published what the challenges ask you to do.
BlackCell rewards inside the Season 1 Battle Pass
On top of the instant rewards, BlackCell owners get extra items along the Battle Pass track:

Activision also promises “additional DMZ benefits, to be detailed prior to Season 1 launch”. One is already confirmed: BlackCell owners can use the new FOB Vendor, which sells extra weapons and gear for DMZ Cash. Our MW4 DMZ Season 1 X01 guide covers the other FOB changes.

The 2,400 CP Battle Pass Bundle costs more than the standard pass, but Activision has not said what extra it includes.
