The Stella Montis Archives Key opens one door on the top floor of Stella Montis, on the east side, at a storage room. It is an Epic key, weighs 0.25, sells for 100 Creds, and only drops from scavenging. It is also the only one of the four Stella Montis keys whose door has actually been mapped.
Stella Montis has four keys in it, and for three of them nobody has written down which door they open. This one is the exception, and that is the whole reason this page exists: if you are holding an Archives Key, this is where the door is. For the wider picture, we keep a running list of all ARC Raiders key locations.
One thing to be clear about before the details. The door positions on this page come from the community-run ARC Raiders Wiki, not from Embark. Embark does not publish key or loot locations at all, so every key guide you will read, including this one, is built on player mapping.
Where the Stella Montis Archives Key door is
The wiki places the door on the top floor of Stella Montis, on the east side, at a storage room. Its exact wording is that the key “opens a door on the Top Floor in the East-right at Storage Room on Stella Montis” — awkward phrasing, but it narrows the search to one floor and one side of the facility, which is more than the other three Stella Montis keys give you.
The in-game item description is shorter and matches: “Unlocks a door in the Archives in Stella Montis.”
The wiki also has a photo of the door itself from the outside, which is the part worth memorising. Doors in ARC Raiders do not announce which key they take until you are standing at them, so recognising the approach saves a lap of the floor.

Scavenging, and that is the whole list. The wiki gives one source for this key — general scavenging — and its loot-container section is empty, meaning nobody has recorded a specific container that reliably produces it.
That matters because keys in this game are not all the same in this respect. Some are listed as quest rewards, where you receive the key from a documented quest. The Archives Key is not one of those. You find it or you do not.
There is no crafting recipe and no trader purchase documented for it.

At 0.25 weight it costs almost nothing to carry, and 100 Creds is your guaranteed floor if you never use it. Whether opening the door beats selling the key is the part we cannot answer — see below.
We cannot tell you what is in that room. The wiki’s loot section for this key is blank, and we are not going to invent a list — so treat the 100 Creds as the known value and the room as an unknown. If you are chasing something specific, every ARC Raiders blueprint location is documented, and those are worth routing for.
Every Stella Montis key compared
Four keys carry the Stella Montis name. This is the honest state of what is known about each, and it is the reason this guide exists for the Archives Key and not yet for the other three:

All four share the same stack size, weight and sell price: 1, 0.25 and 100 Creds. The Archives Key is the only Epic of the set, and the only one whose exact door has been mapped. The Security Checkpoint Key is the only other one with any loot recorded at all, and that is a single Box Locker.
If you are sitting on one of the other three, carrying it costs you almost nothing, but do not plan a raid around it yet.
Getting onto Stella Montis
Stella Montis is not available from the start. The wiki states it unlocks after 24 rounds played, which makes it one of the later maps in the rotation, and it arrived with patch 1.2.0 — the same patch that added this key.
Since patch 1.4.0 the map also runs as a Night Raid, a darker variant of the same layout. The door does not move, but the landmarks you navigate by are much harder to pick out, so a first run for this key is easier in the normal condition.

Off this map, the best-documented single key in the game is the Dam Control Tower Key, which has both a mapped door and a recorded loot list. Riven Tides works differently again — it uses numbered hotel keycards rather than named keys.
