Black Ops 7 Prestige works like classic Black Ops: reach level 55 (Commander), choose to Prestige, drop back to level 1 and climb again, ten times. Each Prestige relocks your Level Unlocks but keeps weapon progress and camos, and pays a new icon, a Permanent Unlock and five rewards on the way back up. After Prestige 10 you graduate into Prestige Master, which runs to level 1,000.
Your player level is shared across Co-Op Campaign, Endgame, Multiplayer, Zombies and Warzone, so XP from any of them moves the same Prestige bar. Endgame’s Combat Rating is a different, mode-only number; our Black Ops 7 Endgame guide covers it. Everything below about the structure comes from Activision’s own progression and Prestige intel blast from launch and its Progression support article, checked against the Season 06 patch notes.
How Black Ops 7 Prestige works, step by step

- Finish level 55. Once you reach Max Level, the Prestige option opens under Career > Progression > Prestige.
- Choose to Prestige. It is optional, and the game asks you to hold the button to confirm the reset.
- You drop to level 1 of the new Prestige and immediately get its icon and one Permanent Unlock. Prestige 1 also gives the “Echo Veil” skin for Mason on entry.
- Climb 1 to 55 again. Prestige rewards arrive at levels 10, 20, 30, 40 and 50, and a new set of Prestige Calling Card Challenges opens.
- At 55, choose to Prestige again. Repeat through Prestige 10.
- After Prestige 10 you move into Prestige Master automatically, and your level goes past 55 for the first time.
That means the 1 to 55 climb happens eleven times in total (once before Prestige 1, then once inside each of Prestige 1 to 10) before the 945 Prestige Master levels from 56 to 1,000.

This is the question most people have before they press the button. Activision’s support article gives both lists.

The Blueprint rule is the one that saves the most time. If you own a Blueprint for the MXR-17, the MXR-17 never relocks, and the same goes for equipment, Field Upgrades and Scorestreaks you have skins for. Your Lifetime stats stay viewable in Career > Stats > Combat Record; everywhere else shows only the current Prestige.
Permanent Unlocks: what to spend them on
Every Prestige gives one Permanent Unlock, ten in total. Spend it on any single Level Unlock item and that item never relocks again. Activision’s own tip is to think about a Field Upgrade, Wildcard or Perk rather than a weapon, because those cannot come from a Battle Pass or Store Blueprint. Once you reach Prestige Master the tokens stop mattering, since all Level Unlocks stay open from then on.
Every Black Ops 7 Prestige reward, Prestige 1 to 10
Each Prestige is themed around a military role. Activision named the theme and the headline reward for every level; the full list of five level rewards per Prestige below comes from the community-run Call of Duty Wiki’s Black Ops 7 ranks table, not from an Activision page. Every Prestige also pays a Permanent Unlock the moment you enter it.

Two small naming notes: the wiki lists Prestige 10’s Blueprint as “Reaper’s Mask” where Activision’s blog says “Reaper’s Mark”, and several wiki cells are the wiki’s transcription of in-game names, so spelling can differ slightly from what you see on screen.
Prestige challenges, Mastery and the Daily Challenge bonus
Rewards are not the only reason to reset. Each Prestige opens its own Calling Card Challenges, and each of those challenges pays XP. Completing every challenge of a Prestige gives that Prestige’s Mastery: an animated Calling Card plus what Activision calls a sizable XP bonus. Entering Prestige also increases the XP bonus for finishing a day’s three Daily Challenges in a mode. For scale, the preseason patch notes set that Daily Challenge bonus at 5,000 XP at launch, up from 3,000 in the beta.
BO7 Prestige Master: levels 56 to 1,000 and what they unlock
Prestige Master is where your level finally passes 55. According to Activision, rewards arrive as you climb from 55 to 100, then more unlock every 25 levels until 1,000. Nothing relocks at this stage.

The entry rewards and the 100-level milestones are from Activision; the level 60 to 90 cosmetics are from the Call of Duty Wiki table. Equipping a legacy icon replaces your Prestige Master icon everywhere other players see your level.
Level 1,000: Prestige Legend
Activision kept the level 1,000 reward Classified before launch. The first player to reach it was FaZe Swagg, and Dot Esports’ December 11, 2025 report lists what his stream showed: the universal “Codeframe” camo, Kagan’s “Synthesis” skin, the “Net Demon” loading screen, the “Skull Code” decal, the “Cybergeist” charm, an animated emblem, the “System Override” animated Calling Card and the “Dark Matter” level color. The wiki calls the status Prestige Legend and lists the same set; the emblem’s name differs between the two (Glitch Born on the wiki, Glitch Reborn in Dot Esports).
Prestige Master titles and the Season 6 changes
From Prestige Master level 100, Title Challenges let you swap the “Prestige Master” title for a custom one. Activision says each title usually has a two-part challenge and pays a large chunk of XP; in the Reaper example below, the two parts are reaching level 100 and a Zombies kill count. Titles exist for all four modes.
The core structure (55 levels, ten Prestiges, a 1,000 cap) has not changed since launch in any of the Black Ops 7 patch notes we checked, from the preseason notes to Season 06. What seasons have added is titles. Season 03 Reloaded added 21 new Prestige Master Titles for players at level 100 or higher. The Season 06 patch notes then added what Activision calls a final set of Prestige Title Challenges:
- Arsenal Incarnate: unlock the final Mastery camo in all four modes for every weapon.
- Private Eye: collect all Intel in Co-Op, Endgame and Zombies.
- Over Achiever: unlock all Mastery Badges.
- John Black Ops: unlock all other Prestige Master Titles.
- Primordial Being (Zombies): complete each Main Quest with at least 18 Relics active.

How long does it take to Prestige in Black Ops 7?
Activision does not publish how much XP each level takes, so no one can give you an exact total from official numbers. What you can do is work it out for your own play:
Hours to your goal = XP still needed ÷ XP you earn per hour.
- Your XP per hour is the one number only you can measure: note your XP before and after an hour of your usual mode.
- The level count is fixed. Ten Prestiges means ten more 1 to 55 climbs after your first, and Prestige Master adds 945 levels on top.
- A Double XP token doubles your XP per hour while it runs, so by the same formula it halves the hours for that stretch.
- Challenge XP (Prestige Calling Cards, Mastery, the Daily bonus and Prestige Master titles) comes on top of match XP, which is why finishing them speeds the climb.
One real data point: FaZe Swagg reached level 1,000 less than a month after the November 14, 2025 launch, streaming nearly nonstop, per the Dot Esports report above. That is the extreme end, not a normal pace.

Prestige, Weapon Prestige and Endgame: three different systems
“Prestige” appears in three places in Black Ops 7, and they do not affect each other.
- Player Prestige is this page: the shared player level, 1 to 55, ten times, then Prestige Master.
- Weapon Prestige is per gun. Once a weapon reaches max level you can Prestige it, which unlocks its Prestige Attachment and Weapon Prestige camos; the wiki adds that it resets the weapon’s level and that camos are kept. The four new Season 06 weapons each have three new Prestige camos, covered in our Season 6 weapons guide.
- Endgame’s Combat Rating is a separate power level inside Avalon, explained in the Endgame guide linked above. Player level and Prestige still advance while you play Endgame.
With Modern Warfare 4 arriving on October 23, 2026, the obvious next question is whether your Prestige comes with you. Activision has not addressed it; our Black Ops 7 to MW4 carry-forward guide tracks what has been confirmed.

Do I lose my camos if I Prestige?
No. Weapon levels, camos, reticles, weapon builds, challenge progress, Operators and Store or Battle Pass items are all kept. Only your player level, Level Unlocks, loadouts and current stats reset.
Do I have to Prestige?
No. Prestige is optional once you reach level 55, but Prestige rewards, Prestige challenges and Prestige Master are only available if you do.
Does Endgame, Zombies or Warzone XP count toward Prestige?
Yes. Player level and Prestige are shared across Co-Op Campaign, Endgame, Multiplayer, Zombies and Warzone.
Does my Black Ops 7 Prestige carry over to Modern Warfare 4?
Not confirmed. Activision has not said anything about Black Ops 7 Prestige in Modern Warfare 4.
