MW4 Mastery Camos: All 13 Names and How the Camo Track Works

Modern Warfare 4 has nine Mastery Camos, three each for Multiplayer, DMZ and Warzone, plus four Pyroclast camos earned through Weapon Prestige. Multiplayer gets Mercurial Drift, Polyatomic Reforged and Orion Reforged; Warzone gets Parallax, Damascus Reforged and Empyros; DMZ gets Chiral, Ripple Tide and Helio. Each weapon has one Camo Track shared across all three modes. Challenge requirements are not published yet; we will update after launch.

The structure comes from Activision’s Call of Duty: NEXT multiplayer blog of August 21, 2026, which says you “progress each weapon’s Camo Track across all three experiences to unlock its Mastery Camo Challenges, with three Mastery Camos to earn in each mode for nine total.” The names come from the four Mastery Camo Showcase videos in the same post: we went through each one frame by frame and read the name card shown on screen for every camo.

One caveat: the showcase order is not an official unlock order. Activision has not published which camo opens which, and some guides list three Prestige camos where the official video shows four.

How the MW4 Camo Track works across Multiplayer, DMZ and Warzone

Activision describes one Camo Track per weapon that you progress in all three modes, and that track is what unlocks the Mastery Camo Challenges for each mode.

The pre-launch challenge list for every weapon, from the Special camos to Divergence, is in our MW4 camo challenges guide.

What that means in practice, based only on what Activision has said:

• Progress on a weapon’s Camo Track counts whether you play Multiplayer, DMZ or Warzone.
• The track unlocks Mastery Camo Challenges, and each mode then has its own three Mastery Camos.
• Nine Mastery Camos in total across the three modes, plus the four Pyroclast camos from Weapon Prestige.
• Each weapon’s level path shows “Weapon Camos available at each level”, per Activision’s October 9 DMZ guide, and weapon progression counts across Multiplayer and DMZ.
• Activision’s October 5 DMZ guide says combat in DMZ can “advance weapon progression, and complete Camo challenges”.

DMZ Early Access opens on October 20 for digital pre-orders, three days before Multiplayer, but whether progress made during Early Access carries into launch is Not confirmed. Also Not confirmed before launch: how many base camos each weapon has, what the individual challenges are (kills, headshots and so on), and how many weapons in a class you need to finish before the next mastery camo opens. This page will be updated with the real requirements after the October 23 launch.

Warzone and DMZ mastery camos

Warzone’s three are Parallax (a green, gold and purple wood-grain look in the showcase), Damascus Reforged and Empyros. DMZ’s three are Chiral (translucent red), Ripple Tide (black with orange flame-like streaks) and Helio (glossy red and pink).

Warzone itself changes with MW4. Season 1 for MW4 and Warzone starts on November 6, according to the official launch roadmap, and Activision has said weapon camos from older games will not carry into the MW4 Warzone integration. MW4 Prestige camos: how to unlock the four Pyroclast stages

The Pyroclast camos come from Weapon Prestige, which each weapon offers once it reaches its Max Level, according to Activision’s October 19 progression post. They are earned gun by gun, not through player Prestige:

• Pyroclast: reach Weapon Prestige 1, Level 1.
• Pyroclast Terminus: reach Max Level in Weapon Prestige 1.
• Pyroclast Scatter: reach Weapon Prestige Master Level 150.
• Pyroclast Cascade: reach Weapon Prestige Master Level 250.

The August showcase used the name Pyroclast Verge; the October 19 post lists Pyroclast Terminus. Activision has not explicitly confirmed whether Terminus replaces Verge. What resets when you Prestige a weapon is covered in our MW4 Weapon Prestige guide.

Gilded Ruin and Moonlit Pearl: the pre-order camos

Two universal camos come from the pre-order offer rather than the grind. Activision’s July 20, 2026 blog explains that digital pre-orders got the Moonlit Pearl camo, plus a Black Ops 7 challenge to earn a second camo, Gilded Ruin: 5,000 Skulls from eliminations, with 10 Skulls per Multiplayer elimination, 30 in Warzone, 5 in Endgame and 1 in Zombies. The first 100,000 players to finish got a serial-numbered Gilded Ruin.

Activision says both camos “will unlock instantly” for MW4 weapons on October 23. Whether serialized copies are still available is not stated, so we have not assumed either way. The rest of the pre-order content is in our MW4 pre-order bonus guide.
